Away | Lanzarote

July 27, 2017

Welcome to the Island just off the corner of Spain in the Canary Islands, an island where it hardly rains yet the sun is generous but gentle. The palm trees are lined almost perfectly through the island and are so aesthetically pleasing you question if they're natural or not. There are a lot of desolate lands filled with rock and ash which is understandable since it is a volcanic island. The lands are left alone giving the island character and a solid identity.

The architecture is also something else, it is white with hints of yellow, this combined with the fake palm trees made me fall hard. I am a sucker for beautiful architecture, and Lanzarote's exudes warmth. When in town be sure to visit the Ceaser Manrique Foundation, it is simply a house that exhibits the work of Lanzarote's most famous architect and interior designer Ceaser Manrique, with hidden caves and mysterious passageways that lead to colour themed rooms and the bluest swimming pool I've ever seen. It's definitely worth the trip and your Instagram will thank you dearly.

We stayed in Costa Teguise, the island's main town, it is close to Accerife airport and boasts a long sandy beach and clear sea. For family and adult only hotels check out the Barcelo Group. You can get packages from Breakfast only to all inclusive. Also if you're more into wellness, being active and just feeling good, check out Vitaclass hotel.  Oh and plane tickets were super cheap, Ryanair was the plug, that eventually gave me back pain  (if you've been seated for more than an hour on their plastic seats you'll know what  mean), but once you're there, suddenly the pain in your back has disappeared and it is all worth it.

(Disclaimer: My blog isn't popping enough to get sponsored by any of these companies, I'm just suggesting stuff that I've researched.)
